Sunday April 18, 2010: The Shaker Boys and Girls teams completed yet another busy, but impressive week. Both competed in League Meet #2 in mid-week, and on Saturday (4/17) the boys went to the Nisky Warrior Track Classic and the girls participated in the Bethlehem Lady Eagles Invitational.

At their second league meet of the season, the Shaker girls continued their league meet winning streak, defeating Columbia 121 to 56, and Averill Park 127 to 55. The Girls are currently in the lead in the Suburban Council North Division Dual Meet standings. Both the Shaker Girls Varsity and JV teams are both now 4-0. Shaker Girls League Meet #2 Photo Gallery

The Shaker Boys teams also continued their undefeated season (4-0) with wins in their second league meet over Saratoga (109-66) and Niskayuna (121-51). Shaker Boys League Meet #2 Photo Gallery

4x800m Relay

In addition to the strong league meet performances, the Shaker boys easily captured the team title at this past Saturday's Nisky Warrior Track Classic. The Boys won with 141 points over second place Colonie with 67 points. The Shaker Girls team took 3rd for the large schools at the Bethlehem Lady Eagles Invitational. This Week: On Monday (4/19) the Shaker Girls will compete in League Meet #3 at Niskyauna starting at 4:00PM. On Tuesday (4/20) the Shaker Boys will be competing at League Meet #3 against Guilderland and Colonie starting at 4:00PM. Both the boys and girls teams are hoping to continue their undefeated dual meet season.

Later this week, select Shaker Boys and Girls athletes will be competing at the Penn Relays. The Penn Relays attracts athletes from all across the world, and this year more than 60 countries will be represented in 425 races with a total of 22,000 athletes competing, which is more athletes than the Olympic Games. Highlights include the Shaker Boys and Girls 4X800M Relays and JQ Chandler in the 400M Hurdles. Best of luck to all athletes!

On Saturday the Shaker Boys and Girls will compete in invitational meets. The Girls will be attending the Hudson Falls Invitational at Hudson Falls HS beginning at 9AM. The Boys will be competing at the Cohoes Relays at Cohoes HS.
