Monday February 15, 2010: The Shaker Boys and Girls teams had several athletes compete at Union College on Monday morning in an effort to qualify for State Qualifiers on February 27th and improve seed times for the upcoming Sectional Championship meet. Highlights of the 2/15 meet, including several season best performances, will be posted along with updated Team Leaderboards as they are received from the coaches.
The Bison Boys and Girls teams will each compete this week in the Section 2 Championship Meet. Pole Vault and Shot Put will be held on Thursday morning, February 18, at Shenendehowa with all the running events and remaining field events on Saturday February 20th at UAlbany. The Shaker Boys will seek to defend their Sectional title against a field of strong athletes from teams including Shen, Albany, Bethlehem and Ballston Spa.
The Shaker Boys have recently been ranked 11th among New York State large schools according to armorytrack.
Congratulations to hurdler and middle distance runner Brendan Dolan who was one of three Shaker seniors who were recently named Physical Education Leadership Award recipients. Congratulations to Matt Conti and Zosia Dunn who were each recently named as a Shaker Athlete of the Week.

2010 Indoor Track & Field Year End Awards Banquet
When: Wed. March 24th 6:00-8:00 pm
Where: Taft Hall Dining Room
Cost: $7 Per Person Check Made out to “Shaker All-Sports Booster Club”. There will also be a 50/50 drawing with all proceeds going to help support the team.
Who: Any indoor track and field athlete, their friends and families.
Why: To recognize everyone's achievements throughout the season and to give special recognition to those athletes who have earned it.
What to Bring: Bring your own refreshments and all food and dessert will be provided.
**If you are not doing outdoor track you must turn in your complete uniform by the night of the banquet or you will be fined $65 to cover replacement costs.**
Food: Catered by “Testo's” with foods such as pizza, wings, baked ziti, veggies, and salad.
R.S.V.P.: Mail or drop off in mailbox in the High School Athletic office. Shaker High School c/o Coach Stadtlander 445 Watervliet Shaker Rd. 12110 with number attending and check made out to Shaker All-Sports Booster Club ASAP.

Matt Bogdan: Still continuing his solid season runs a personal best of 4:14 in the mile at the Giegengack Invitational. A week later runs a 14:54 at the BU Terrier Invitational. And this weekend ran a 8:47 3k at the Princeton/Harvard meet.
RJ Sniffen: Slowly returning to form after his injury runs a 4:20 mile at the Binghamton Triangular, and an 8:49 3k New York Road Runners Meet
Craig Weiss: 4:33 at the Binghamton Triangular
Chris Manico: 4:31 mile at the Binghamton Triangular
Ebube Abara: 67.87 open 500 at the Binghamton Triangular
Jeff Corelli: 4:35 mile at Colgate Invitational
Brian Benson: Runs a solid 1:58 at the BU Valentine Invitational, and in the week before runs a 2:37 1000 at the Tufts Stampede Invitational
