Yale Invitational Compilation Video (4x400, 800m, 4x200):
Sunday January 17, 2010: The Yale Track and Field Classic on January 15-16 was the latest opportunity for the Shaker Boys team to display their talent. On Friday night, the Shaker Distance Medley Relay team of Mike Libruk, Matt Conti, Chris Herman and Ryan Egan set a new school record in running the 5th fastest time in the DMR in the nation this season.

In Saturday's popular 3000M at Yale, Shaker had 18 runners with times under 10:00 which was more than any other school at the meet and further evidence of the depth of the Shaker team. The fastest time of the day for a Shaker runner and the only team member to break 9:00 was Ryan Egan who finished 4th overall of about 275 competitors spread over 11 heats. Seventeen other Shaker runners finished under 10:00 and everyone had a new PR in a race that is rarely run during the season: Jon Vallecorsa, Eric Young, Casey Gilboy, Ethan Hausamann, Dave Marthy, Kyle Foster, Ryan Recchia, Jeff Heim, Mike Libruk, Dylan Hedderman, Adam Schwenzfeier, Brian Hickey, Max Morgan, Jesus Vazquez, Jackson Ciavardoni, Andrew Olsen and Alex Layden.

Top individual season best performances in the field events for Shaker Boys were: Nequan Lewis (2nd) and Carlos Mendez (5th) in the Shot Put, Tim Derocher in the Pole Vault and Reuben Feinman in the Long Jump. JQ Chandler and Brendan Dolan both qualified for the semi-finals in the 55M Hurdles, each finished in the top 10 in the 400M and each ran a leg on the second place 4x400M relay team. Chris Herman and Matt Conti, in addition to their record breaking DMR on Friday night, each ran a leg on the second place 4x400M relay and each also ran just over 1:57 in the 800M championship race. The Shaker Girls also had several notable performances at Yale. The 4x200M relay team (Vandenburgh, Coughlin, Brundige, Hayes) qualified for the Eastern States Championships with their 1:49.77 and were just over two seconds away from the school record. The 4x400M relay team finished in the top 10 in their division and the DMR team was 4th in their division. Alexa Haller and Laura Hines started off the girls on a good foot Saturday morning, both running big PRs in the 3000M. All the Shaker Girls had a PR in the 3000M races: Alexa Haller, Laura Hines, Christine Brown, Gabie Brown, Sylvia Hahn and Meg Deguire. Carly Brundige in the 55M and Christine Coughlin and Emily Vandenburgh in the 300M were the top Shaker finishers in those races. Top 50 finishers in the individual 800M Championship for Shaker were Melissa Sheridan, Zosia Dunn, Molly Nephew and Kayleigh Lavender and in the Mile Championship were Blair Burke and Laura Libruk.

The Boys 4x400M team of Brendan Dolan, JQ Chandler, Herman and Conti missed a school record by less than two seconds. Distance standout Ryan Egan missed breaking the 3000M school record held by Shaker grad and current Yale student Matt Bogdan by less than ½ second.
