2008 Springstead Invitational
9/13/08: The Shaker team, led by the second place finish of Craig Weiss in the Boys Varsity race finished 4th of 11 teams. The Girls team, led by 8th grader Morgan Wojtusik's 5th place, finished 7th in the Girls Varsity competition.
The JV Boys, led by Dave Marthy (11th) and Chris Herman (15th) were 4th in the team competition. The Shaker Girl's JV team finished 2nd as Blair Burke came across in 4th and Natana Gordon in 9th place.
The highlight of the day for Shaker fans may have been the Championships won by both the Boys and the Girls Frosh teams. The young Girls team captured the team title by placing their first five runners (all 7th and 8th graders) in the top 12. The Boys Frosh team won the Championship for the second consecutive year as the top runners all completed the course in their personal best times despite the wet conditions at the Town Park.
