Suffern Invitational 9/20/08
The day got off to a great start as Brian O’Connor led the Frosh Boys team to another victory in the Suffern Invitational. His victory by nearly ten seconds over the second place finisher was just the beginning as Shaker runners (Caleb Mellon, Ryan Recchia and Adam Schwenzfeier) also took 3rd, 4th and 5th place in the frosh race that Shaker has dominated the last two years. These four, along with the 5th Shaker scorer Brian Hickey, each brought home individual and team medals and the Championship trophy.
The JV Boys team finished 3rd of 27 teams in their race. Dave Marthy (6th), Jeff Heim (11th) and Chris Herman (21st) each collected an individual medal to lead the team.
The Varsity Boys also finished third of twenty teams in their race. They were led by Craig Weiss (3rd), Ryan Egan (7th) and Eric Young (17th), who each earned individual medals.

Girls Update (By Katy Sniffen): The girl’s Varsity team placed first overall at Suffern, with Emma Risler leading with a 7th place finish. Junior Varsity’s Blair Burke and Christine Hall helped lead the team to second place finish. Laura Libruk placing 7th and Kristen Moras with an 11th place finish helped the Freshman team tie for 2nd place. Congrats girls!
