Shaker Boys Cross Country had an outstanding 2006 season and is expected to have another excellent year in 2007. The boys varsity is returning three of its top five runners
from last year. The team is led by senior RJ Sniffen, the recent 5K silver medalist in the Empire State Games, along with junior Craig Weiss and senior Chris Manico. Several
other strong runners including seniors Jeff Corelli and Devon Sedgwick are expected to compete for the top spots on the varsity team. The 2006 Times Union Cross Country
Coach of the Year, Ed Springstead will again guide all three boys teams. The expectations are high as the Shaker team has been listed as the#3 team in New York State in the
pre-season rankings on dyestat.com. They have also been ranked #5 in New York State
by tullyrunners.com.

The JV Boys team has added several new runners along with a group of sophomores moving up from last year's successful freshman team. It is expected to be one of the strongest Shaker JV teams in recent years.

The Boys Freshman team is coming off an outstanding 2006 season which included Freshman team championships at the Queensbury Invitational and the Albany County Championship. The team is returning four of its top seven finishers from the team that finished 2nd at the Suburban Council XC Championships. Also expected to strengthen
the team are several first-time cross country runners.

This should be a great year for all three teams!
